Hello! My name is Yury Toroptsov. I’m a Paris-based photographer. I’m this year’s Archisle fellow. Archisle is an international photography residency in Jersey organised and hosted by the Société Jersiaise. From April 1 through September 30, 2014 I will be in Jersey involved in a number of projects such as a photographic commission to produce a new body of work related to the island’s mythology. I’ll be also participating in various educational projects such as Photo Academy at the Youth Centre teaching photographic skills, etc. We’ll be posting a complete programme of events here soon. I look forward to this opportunity to discover firsthand (and share) the rich history of Jersey and meet its people.
