This year commercial shipping containers will once again be lowered into Weighbridge Place to mark the start of the island’s sixth Skipton Open Studios. Archisle International Photographer in Residence Michelle Sank will be taking part in this year’s Skipton Open Studios offering opportunities for portfolio review and intensive photography workshops. The event starts on the 22nd of June and continues until the 30th.

The containers attracted over 3,000 people last year and this year is set to be an even bigger success. Skipton Open Studios celebrates the Island’s leading artists and this year 54 talented Islanders are involved with the nine day installation. Many of the artists are welcoming the public into their studios and galleries to see first hand how their work is created.

Michelle Sank and Archisle Project Leader Gareth Syvret are offering tours of Michelle’s studio at the Société Jersiaise, portfolio reviews and mentoring sessions. Michelle’s studio will be open to the public from the 22nd to the 29th of June between 11am-5pm. You can view Michelle’s artist profile page by clicking here.

Saturday 22nd June:

11am – 1.30pm: Folio reviews and mentoring with Michelle Sank, Archisle International Photographer in Residence and Gareth Syvret, Archisle Project Leader.

2.30pm – 3.30pm + 4pm – 5pm: Tour of Archisle studio and discussion

Saturday 29th June:

11am – 12.00am + 12.30pm – 1.30pm: Tour of Archisle studio and discussion

2.30 – 5pm: Folio reviews and mentoring with Michelle Sank, Archisle International Photographer in Residence.
